By MICHAEL KOVACHEV, Reuters – A motorcyclist has died after being struck by a machine at a motorbike show in western Russia, officials said.
A 24-year-old man from the town of Zlatoust was riding his Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle through a crowd of motorcyclists when he was hit by the machine on Saturday, according to a statement by the Federal Motorcycle Association.
The rider was transported to a local hospital and died on Sunday, it said.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the crash.
The Zlatust district of Zadar is known for its fast-paced motorbike riding scene.
It hosts a motorcycle show each year that attracts tens of thousands of spectators.
